Hi,

I'm 27 and I came off the pill last May with the intention of planning for a family. So far, I've not become pregnant but my last period was 3 weeks late and now my period hasn't arrived again. For some people I know this is fairly normal but I've been having periods since I was 11 and they are always regular - every 31 days without fail. I've done about 4 pregnancy tests but they have all come back negative. Last month I went to the doctor but she said to wait til it started, which it did. She didn't think there was a problem unless it never started. I still think its a bit strange - has anyone else had a similar problem?

Coming off the birth control is what has messed up your cycle; and it can take up to 12 months for it to regulate depending on how long you were on the pills.

This is normal, depending on your age. Young ladies do not often have frequent periods, sometimes until the age of 18. You can talk to your mother and set up a feminine exam if you wish.
