Q: Is This What Its Like?

For the past 9 months I've been sick with alot of different symptoms. During these 9 months my TSH went high and I was put on levaxin, and that did take a few of my symptoms away among those fatigue.

Anyhow, I still get bouts of fatigue and I notice that when I get this way it will last for days. Ok.. heres how it goes:

I get up in the morning, shower and eat breakfast. 30-40 minutes later I start feeling tired. So tired that I cant concentrate. I can usually fight this round of fatigue, but then I eat lunch and the same thing happens all over again. This time I usually have to sleep. I sleep for 3-4 hours and I have a hard time getting up when I have a family member try to wake me after 1, 2 and 3 hours. I finally drag myself out of bed after the 3 hours and I use about an hour or so to wake up. By the time I wake up, I'm hungry again and I have the same thing happen all over again. Even tho most of the time I get past it without another nap.

Then around 11pm I start feeling better. If I eat anything this late at night nothing happens. I have no fatigue caused by the food I just ate even tho I still can feel tired after they whole ordeal that happend earlier in the day.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Hi cath,
The symptoms you describe seems to be linked to hypoglycemia , when i first start having problem i was a little bit like you , sleepy all day and at night i would feel much better (typical hypoglycemic). Yous should start by slowly modifying your died going to bed earlier and waking up at regular hour everyday, between 7 and 8 is the best (i know its hard at first). You should also eat small meal 6 times during the day ( look on the forum for more info on this subject).

You should also see a doctor to make sure of what you have. Be carefull to choose a doctor who is sensible to hypoglycemia disorder. I had to see 3 doctor before i got a good diagnosist. If you go for blood test it is imperative that you get tested for blood sugar with a 5 hour test were they take your blood every 30 minutes, really important in the first 3 hours , then 1 time every hour is fine (not the usual 2 hour test that is mostly good
only for diabets).

Anyways , hope you get better , look on the forum lots of usefull information.
