Q: Joint inflammation, gout & high levels of uric acid

I've been diagnosed with high level of uric acid past few months. And since then i've taken anti-purine and cut down on high probability uric acid food. Then I've done check uo and my uric acid level went down. after 1 month, yesterday, my left index finger was swollen and there is no pain. What could be the caused of it? Does that mean my uric acid went up and possible of gout?
Please advise.

The swollen index finger may not be due to gout. Gout attacks of the joints are usually very painful and you aren't experiencing pain. Inflammation of any cause (not only gout) can cause swollen finger. You can check your uric acid blood level again. You can contact your primary health doctor.
