Q: How do male fertility tests work?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 5th, 2007
I'm curious about how well the Baby First Male Fertility Test works. We aren't expecting to have a test done at a doctor's office in the next month and are wondering if this is reasonably accurate and easy to use.

The Baby First Male Fertility Test is a home test that is easy to use. However, the test's results are only relatively true. This test does not count spermatozoids but indirectly shows if your sperm count is above or under 20 millions spermatozoids in 1 ml sperm. Normal sperm count should be above 20 millions in 1ml sperm.
Another interesting point to consider is that this test tells us nothing about the spermatozoids’ vitality, mobility, morphology and functional abilities which are also very important for male fertility.
You can take the test but you can’t rely on the results too much. Male fertility tests at your doctor’s office are much more reliable.
