Q: Seriously, Whats the Matter With Me?
asked by: loverloo on April 5th, 2007

Everytime I meet a guy I honestly think I like, if he admits to feelings towards me as well, I freak out! I will suddenly feel like he's suffocating me or like he's out to get me, and then the crush I once had dissapears and I can't stand the guy. I'm 17, will I outgrow this? Whats the matter with me?!?!!?!?

Probably nothing.

You are just encountering some desperate guys.

A guy who spills his heart is not for you.

At 17, there are many things that you will outgrow BTW.

there's nothing wrong with you. you're young, and just need to find a guy looking to have a good time. not one that will bare his soul. give it some time and i'm sure you'll find someone. you're only 17. there's no need to be serious at your age. take yopur time and the right guy will come along.

maybe freaking out is just your way of telling yourself you are not ready to be with someone.
what exactly do you mean by freaking out?

by freaking out i mean that i get depressed, and really uneasy and i feel like crawling out of my skin. I've met some guys that i honestly thought i'd want to be with but then i ruin it.

Maybe talking to the person you're having these feelings about would help, have you tried that? Maybe they'll think you're nuts and run away, or maybe they could help you...

Have you considered counseling to find out why this happens?

I have tried talking to them and explaining the way that i am, and he said he'd help me through it and maybe i'd stop eventually and get used to it, but it didnt work because i gave up after about a month I have considered counceling but i don't know how to start..

Maybe you are afraid of commitment?
That could always be a reason

I do feel you. I feel that way as well when it's pretty obvious that someone likes me. I feel like I'm suffocating. I think it's pretty normal. You're just probably not into relationships right now. You're still young. Enjoy going out with guys.
