Q: Gabe's Doctor Appointment (same As Preg Community)

We're home from the doctor!

Gabe weighs a whopping 9lbs 9oz!
& .He's 21 3/4 inches long!
Shocked

.The doctor said we must be doing something right,
because he's growing tremendously & he's very healthy.

My doctor gave me some soy formula to try
for his spitting up/throwing up. Because he
only does it when we supplement with his formula.
So he said see if that helps, but if not, don't worry
about his throwing up. Because he's definitely
gaining a lot of weight.

I have a strong healthy boy!

Mr. Green

.Chris came with.. It was kind of hard.
But we got along fine. He was talking
about "if we get back together" & stuff.
He gave me a hug when he left, too.

Sigh. I miss him terribly.
But .I'm doing surprisingly good today.

krissy, j/w why you need formula...since you seem to be producing a good amount of breastmilk? a lot of babies have problems with formula since its a lot harder to digest than breastmilk.

i can't keep up with how much he eats. he eats over 4oz each feeding (every 3 or 4 hours) & i try to pump everytime after he eats, but i just don't produce enough to keep him satisfied. it's way too hard to keep up with him.

you'd basically have to pump *all day long*....sucks.

But I'm sooo glad he's growinnng!

Oni's been on .soy since we had to stop breastfeeding, and she's *never* spit up!! (unless she started pooping *right* after her meal!!! Shocked )

I love yall soo much! Pictures woman!!!!!!!!

In response to the last few posts.. Are you sure you're not over feeding him? Did the doctor tell you 4 oz was ok? If so then don't mind me. But my doctor told me that Brayden should still only be eating about 2 oz and he is almost 7 weeks old. If you haven't talked to the doctor about it I would suggest asking him. Every doctor has different opinions so thats just what my doctor told me. Check into it because you sound like you should be producing enough.

.he doesn't spit up/throw up my breastmilk, only formula. & i think someone on here told me that babies who have breastmilk eat more than formula fed babies. because breastmilk isn't as filling. i know he's still hungry after 2oz, because he still cries & roots.

Hey! I'm feeding Brayden breast milk too! The doctor told me that since they eat faster through a bottle then at the breast that I should stop and burb him after every half ounces. This gives them time to realize they are full. Thats just what my doctor said. But like I said earlier every doctor is different and every parent is different. If what you are doing is going well then don't worry about it! he's growing great so I'm sure you're fine, I was just offering a few tips!

wow krissy hes gettin so bigg.... you go mama!!! your doing an amazing job.. i think i might have mentioned that... my doc had mentioned to me that breast milk is digested faster and easier since its not as heavy as formula! Breastmilk is also gentler on the tummy! but your body should produce` enough to feed him! is he nursing at all or are you just pumping? if not nursing try having him suckle even if hes not getting much.. the body reacts different to a baby suckle rather than a pump suckle.. maybe this might help your body produce more milk for him since his suckle will be different! i read that somewhere! maybe google "increase milk supply" it'll give ya`more suggestions! but soy formula is good.. i supplement once in a while with similac organic and similac isomil! but i breastfeed exclusively! y lil guy is a pig too...lol good luck! keep it up mama!

anyhow i hope that helps! post pics hun! i cant wait to see your lil man!! yeehhh hes 17days ol'..
