I need some advice. I have recently started having heavy periods that last about two weeks. Then i started taking birth control pills and then it got better but then i stopped taking them for a few days and I had my period around march 20th and then i got it again on April 1st. Is there a reason why this could be happening? My periods are really heavy...i have to wear super plus tampons and overnight pads together and two hours later i bleed through it...i've messed up so many clothes. Even when i took birth control pills this happened. Any suggestions???

How long were you on birth control pills? Sometimes women have to take them for at least 6 months before they see any lessening in their period.

Stopping birth control pills abruptly (for a few days mid cycle) can cause breakthru bleeding, and random bleeding that seems like a period. Always try to take your pills at the same time every day to avoid this kind of thing.

YOu should see a gyno if you are concerned with the amount you are bleeding and/or are not seeing any relief from taking your birth control pills.

2 Periods In 2 Weeks
I have been taking birth control pills since october of last year to try and help with the heavy bleeding. I was doing well but the pills i was on gave me severe cramps and it made me have severe mood swings so the doctor switched me to something else and it worked better but i just could not remember to take them. Those pills have worked better but i am also trying to diet and i feel that they are are making me gain more weight so that is why i decided to stop taking them. I am going to make an appointment with the doctor so that they can tell me what birth control pills will help with not making me gain weight and to stop all the heavy bleeding....
