This Is What Cured Me! Completely Unexpected! Posted: 04-04-07 08:00am
Are you at the end of your rope? I was
too... I had suffered for 8 years, and
tried literally every medication approved
to treat bipolar disorder and nothing was
working. One day I was in cell biology
class and learned of a g-protein pathway
involving a transmembrane protein known as
adenylyl cyclase, that responds to stress
hormones. I found out later that adenylyl
cyclase is possibly abnormal in people
with mood disorders. I thought to myself,
what if I cut off this pathway at the
source: the stress hormones. So I started
taking Relacore, a diet pill that reduces
a stress hormone called cortisol. I take
about 1/3 of the dose recommended for
weight loss, so I don't lose weight. This
stuff has been a miracle. I have been
stable for over a year and am functioning
as well as ever. I have very few episodes
and they are very easily controlled. No
conventional medication has worked this
well. So if nothing has worked for you, I
suggest you try it. It is safe and has
very few side effects. I hope this helps,
and let me know if it works for you!

I was thinking about this post the other
day... and I've come to realize that this
post was nothing more than just a
marketing trick to sell you the Relacore
product.
The reason I'm coming back to this thread
after it has been posted almost two months
ago - is because I actually tried this
Relacore product and was left BITTERLY
disappointed. After starting to have all
the usual side-effects that people
reported having from taking that product,
I started looking more into it and found
out that Relacore, CortiStress, and
CortiSlim products are considered a grade
A scam. They are not even FDA approved,
and have gotten multiple warnings for
false claims in advertising.
So I just wanted to point this thread out
once again and warn people that the
original poster may have been one of the
most clever online scam artists I've seen
to date. I ended up buying that Relacore
product after reading his very convincing
story, and only wasted $80 and some of my
health (the product makes most people sick
and gives them headaches).
I realized this after I have read the
above post once again this week and the
FIRST sentence of that post was what made
my realization. Tell me if this doesn't
already sound sketchy to you:

So please be aware of posts that mention
one specific product - such as this one.
But also keep in mind that I might be
wrong. It all comes down to which sources
you trust - do you trust what someone says
on the internet, or do you make your own
conclusions through your experience?

Well Excuse Me.. Posted: 06-18-07 09:30am
Okay, I'm not a sales person or anything,
I'm actually just a biology and chemistry
undergraduate. I'm sorry Relacore did not
work for you, but understand that bipolar
disorder is a multifaceted illness with
many potential causes. I think it is
unfair that you are blaming me for its
failing. Everyone has different body
chemistry and whatever works will
undoubtedly be different for each
individual. I was merely reporting what
worked for me and i didn't make any of it
up. I had been on everything, Lithium,
Trileptal, Topamax, Depakote... I could go
on to name the other dozen medications
I've been on since I was diagnosed at age
13 and nothing worked.
If you really don't believe me that I'm
just a biochem major, go ahead and read my
blog. It is my goal to become a biochem
professor and do research on the
biochemistry of bipolar disorder: [link
removed]
I spend a lot of my time reading the
latest research on this so I can help
people like you.
Again, I'm sorry Relacore didn't work for
you, and I'm sorry you wasted your money,
but I'm sure you've wasted your money on
other prescription drugs as well. I
suffered with bipolar disorder for eight
years before I landed on a medication that
worked for me, so just be patient, you'll
find the right combination.

Well about six months ago I read about
Relacore and decided to try it to help
curb the affects of bipolar and ADHD.
Since I have been taking it I notice that
the affects of the disorder seems to be
less severe. I take Relacore with St.
Johns wart and omega 3(fish oil) and the
combination seems to work best for me. I
don't know the health risks of taking
Relacore or the other 2 but I do know that
they work for me. I don't have the mood
swings that I had before and I don't
notice any side affects. This is just my
experience taking Relacore and that every
persons chemical makeup may be different,
I hope you find a combination that works
for you whether it be prescription drugs
or other alternatives. I plan on getting
blood test every year as I did with
prescription drugs to see if any damaging
affects occur. I am not a sales person
for Relacore or a doctor, but a
construction worker that was at the end of
his ropes. I am just stating my opinion
on how my attitude has change since taking
it.

I would have to say this is a sales pitch
as well, and that melojo and neuroru are
the same person, similar lines/pitch and
identical phrasing ie
"at the end of your rope". I have never
heard a person with bipolar use suicide
phrasing in general speech let alone two
in one thread (I guess it just hits a
little close to home, unless your manic).
if your bonofide and real good for you,
I've had major depression since I was 15,
treated on and off every year or two, and
was rediagnosed as bipolar 3 years ago
(I'm 33, so mental illness has been part
of my life for 18 years) and more than
wish I'd never had any of it (cept the
mania )

I don't know why they deleted the link to
my research journal blog... I'll even
e-mail it directly to you if you really
don't believe me. I'm not the same person
as the previous guy who posted saying
relacore was working. This is the honest
truth. The person who originally messaged
me, saying relacore didn't work, I sent a
personal message, with the link. They
read my blog and they now believe me. I'm
just trying to help, and like I said
before everyone is different, Relacore may
not work for everyone, just like Lithium
or Lamictal or others don't work for
everyone. And the only reason I chose
Relacore was because it was cheaper than
the others, but I could care less if it
was Cortislim of any of the others that
reduce the cortisol. Many people with
bipolar disorder are helped by
prescriptions and I suggest you try all of
those before you try an alternative like
this. I happened to have tried
everything, the last of which was Topamax,
which made me unable to think my way out
of a wet paper bag.
Once again, I'm a biochem undergraduate,
and I want to find better treatments for
bipolar disorder... that is my ultimate
goal. I can't believe the people I'm
trying to help are being so unfair to me.

Also, if I were a salesperson for
relacore, why would I recommend only 1/3
of the dose?
