Q: Tea W/ Bcp?

Sometimes I take my pills with black or green tea because it keeps me awake. However, I just heard someone say "Dont drink tea with medicine, it cancels out it's effect" I'm not sure if this is true but has anyone heard this? I feel kinda scared taht my pills might not be working now poooo
