Menstrual Cups Posted: 04-03-07 09:52am
has anybody had any experience using a
menstrual cup? (such as the ones on
divacup.com or mooncup.co.uk)?
the cup, at its widest part (the rim), is
1.7 inches across. the main part is about
1.3 inches. my concerns are that wearing
it for 5 days in a row when i'm on my
period would stretch the vagina. yes,
it's the old loose question again, lol.
i emailed the makers to ask and they said
it wouldn't, but of course they are going
to say that...
i know the vagina is capable of
stretching, but surely if you wear
something as big as that continuously for
days on end it would make you lose your
elasticity in a way that tampons
wouldn't?
what do you guys think?

Well, Stretching doesn't seem to be a
concern of the women on the site... I just
ordered one, there's a one year garuntee,
so we'll find out together huh!

heheh, i wasn't actually trying to
advertise or anything
i've had mine for a while now, i use it on
and off. i'm environmentally conscious, so
for that reason i love the idea.
putting it in isn't a problem. i don't
get squeemish about my own blood. you
dont feel it inside you at all. i like
the fact it doesnt dry me out like tampons
do. the only difficulty i had was with
removing it. i tried ever angle but it
was always uncomfortable, and i found if i
put it in and removed it many times during
my period, my vaginal opening would start
to feel irritated. it'll be interesting
to see if you have that problem when you
try it.
let me know how you find yours. it takes a
bit of getting used to. and i'd advise you
to lop off that 'stem'. i found it never
really served much purpose!

I possibly live under a rock. I have never
even heard of this! I checked out the
website though. Do you live in another
country other than the US? Is this a real
product? haha
