My doctor told me when I switched that as long as I started the new pack when I was due to start the next cycle that I would be covered. However, I did not switch these specific brands. If you are concerned I suggest that you call you doctor and ask a nurse. Or call your pharmacist. How long ago did you have sex?

I started Yasmin--the new pills-- almost 3 weeks ago and had sex once in the first week and I guess in the last two weeks a few more times. The thing is, I live in Russia (I'm American) and the birth control pills are over the counter drugs. I was prescribed my Orthonovum35 two years ago when I lived in America by my gyno, but just decided to start Yasmin because I've heard it's good. Pills are cheaper here and I don't have to deal with insurance, either--and besides, it's a hell of a problem to get a years supply of BC pills in America before coming to a different country... It's the same pill here in Russia as it is in America, but I didn't even think to talk to a doctor about changing them, so maybe I can try over the internet with my doctor back home? My period should come soon, but I've been feeling strange the past few days and thought that it could be related to the pill or even possible pregnancy? Thanks for the input!

Unfortunately, it would be to late for you to take plan b. So pretty much your only option is to wait it out. Try not to be to concerned, you should be fine. Good Luck!
