Hi, I'm a little uneasy feeling right now becuase I'm going on the 3rd day of my green pill and i haven't gotten my period yet. I've been taking ortho triclyen lo for about 8 months. I've never missed a dose the past two months and take them at the same time everyday except for the weekend were i'm about an hour or 2 later. I had my period the past months on the second to last day of the light blue pill. The past 2 months my doctor prescribed a diretic for high blood pressure and butalbital/aspirin/caffine caplets to be taken as needed. I know some medications interfere with birth control pills but my doctor knew i was taking birth control so i dont know why he'd prescribe something that might interfere (I forgot to ask). So, i'm really scared that i might be pregnant, my boyfriend and i have unprotected sex about 4-5 times a week. I don't know how i could be pregnant if i haven't missed any doses of my birth control but i'm reall uncertain now that i haven't gotten my period, any suggestions anyone?? Sorry for the long post! any help will be grateful!!

Well don't stress out, because that will make your period later Wink

I personally don't get my period until day 3 or 4, so give it some time. I don't think the blood pressure medication interfered with the birth control; but it may have affected the build up of uterine material, and it may have affected the timing of your cycle Smile

.like .eiri said, stressing will only make your period later. .since you have been taking the pill correctly the chances of you being pregnant are very low. Many people do no get their period until the 4th or even 5th day of their placebo pills so what you are experiencing is normal.

Thanks for the support, that does make me feel better! Today is the 4 day of taking the green pills and still don't have my period. I know worrying about it will only make it worse, but that's hard to control (I do have some anxiety issues that don't help the situation) . I was really stressing about it yesterday so i went and bought a pregnancy test and did it in the evening and it came back negative (thank god!) but i know those aren't perfect either. It came with 2 so i'll test again maybe friday if i haven't gotten my period yet. Hopefully i'll get it soon. Is it ok to start the new pack of pills even if don't get my period? Is it possible to just miss your period without you being pregnant or having something wrong? I will make an appointment with my doctor if i don't end up getting it. Thanks!

Some women can have very light periods - and some can stop altogether - while on the birth control pill.

A negative pregnancy test is a good sign you are not pregnant.

Continue taking your birth control pills even if you do not start your period.

So i did end up getting my period really late Wed night like 11pm, that was 4 days into my placebo pill. Which is later than normal. My period lasted until Sunday and sunday was really light, and it was is shorter than my normal periods. Now 11 days into my new pack i started i've started to bleed very lightly/spotting. I've never had this before while on the pill. What does it mean? Should i worry?

PS. to my last post.

I haven't missed any pills in the pack, i have had 2 cold in the past month or so. I've just taken cold eez and sudafed for the colds. I have had unprotected sex a number of times. I still take the same meds as before, vitamins, directice, migraine stuff.
