thanks for all the comments!

he's started sucking his thumb in the past few days and i've always said i didn't want him to do that but it is wicked cute. i just melt when i look down at him and he's sucking his thumb and gazing at me. swoooooon.

He is getting sooo big!!!
He's soo handsome!!!

I know now you think him sucking his thumb is cute, but when his teeth buck out past his lips, I don't think it'll be too cute.

I would try to enforce the orthodontic noonie as much as poss.

The chance of him stopping sucking his thumb are like 1 in a 100. He will more than likely continue into his childhood years.
Hell, .baron's 19 year old cousin still sucks her thumb and her teeth are jaaaacked uuuuppp!

Oni did the saaaaame thing at about 4 months. And .baron's mom would allow it. Of course she wouldn't be paying for the braces, so she cut that caca out real quick.

In the long run, .oni forgot all about her thumb being used as a soothie.

he is getting big, he'll be 5 months tomorrow!!! can you believe it?

as for the thumb sucking, i'm not all that concerned. he doesn't do it often and he's not all that attached to his binky either, he needs his binky to go to sleep and he occasionally finds his thumb during the day.

thumb sucking isn't that bad--

"According to the American Dental Association, thumb sucking does not cause permanent problems with the teeth or jaw line unless it is continued beyond 4 to 5 years of age. As it turns out, somewhere between 85% and 99% of children have finished thumb sucking spontaneously before this period."

i was a sucker and my teeth are perfectly straight. Only thing it might do is change the shape of his thumb.

haha his hair is so funny! i absolutely love seeing pictures of him. it seems like he loves having his picture taken because he's always got such cute ones going on. he's such a handsome boy bridget! i just love him.

This makes me realize how lucky I was. My little Nate started sucking his thumb in the womb (saw on ultrasound!) and he just slowly tappered off and stopped on his own at around 13 months or so. I was dreading the thumb sucking battle. I tried so hard to get him to take the ortho pacifiers and it never worked!!! He would just spit it out. I would strongly encourage people to always try those, though.

That is a cute picture of .Finn sucking his thumb, though:)
