Question/concern....
Adriana has been on whole milk now for a couple of weeks. At first when I gave it to her, I mixed it with her formula until it eventually became all milk, no formula. Well she didn't like it. She won't take it in a sippy cup at all. If she see's me pour it in her cup, she'll throw it as soon as I give it to her. And if she doesn't know it's milk, she'll take a drink and throw it. I've tried it warm, I've tried it cold....She just won't drink it. She loves cereal (kix) but she doesn't get enough milk out of that. So.......she has also been off the bottle for a couple of weeks or so also, so I tried the milk in her bottle (yes...I went backwards Crying or Very sad ) and she will drink it that way....I can usually get her to drink about 8oz/day like that. But there again, she *was* completely off her bottle with no problems at all. She's never been dependant on her bottle, nor cried for it. But her Dr. wants her to get at least 16oz of milk a day. So I don't know what to do. I try to give her a bit more of other dairy products to make up for it, but obviously that still isn't enough. Any suggestions? Should I be concerned? She seems just find. She's full of energy.......my goodness is she full of energy! help!

Ok, now for the good stuff.

Sporting a new birthday outfit....

Grandma, get .daisy off of me!....(she actually likes the ferret, but she has a funny look here)

My big girl, last .sunday

Close up, with her new dress and hair clips (they're glittery!)

The end.

From just now, "can't find me here mom!"

I wouldn't be too worried about her not having enough milk, especially if you are able to make up some of the loss with other dairy products..with my kids, I always gave them yogurt (there's a kind specifically for babies, but I never had any problems with the regular kinds either) slices of cheese and things like that..another thing you can try, is adding a little bit of flavor to the milk, if she likes it..we were told we could add Ovaltine malted milk (or something like that..it's been so long it's hard to remember)...it's like chocolate milk powder, but it has added vitamins and nutrients to it, though I wouldn't do that too often...one other thing, try adding some dry milk powder to some of her foods (if she eats oatmeal or mashed potatoes, things like that)..

if it were me, i would let him have the milk in a bottle. im not going to take him of the bottle at one, i think that is a bit young, IMO, especially since breastfed babies get to have that comfort as long as they want, it just doesnt seem fair to me.
but like someone said, you can supplement calcium in other forms too. like other dairy products.

Thanks for all the info!
She loves yogurt, and string cheese...so those are a typical snack. She'd live on just fruit if I let her tho! I think I'll see if the ovaltine stuff works. I'll also try the powdered milk, she doesn't like oatmeal....but I'm sure I could find something to put it in Twisted Evil

Thank you .terra berra! I have been putting just 1 clip in, and combing most of her bangs to one side, but I just tried this on .sunday, and I really like it. I love being able to put cute things in her hair Smile

My son is 2 now and still has a bottle every evening before bed. It's his comfort thing and it doesn't worry me at all - I was still having my "bokkle" at 3! Laughing

Thanks!

Jules, I started giving her a bottle before bed time now. I just wish she'd drink it from her cups. Maybe she will with time...hard to say.

I hate milk and I always have. I get my calcium from yogurt, cheeses, ice milk, and I will drink chocolate milk. I just can't stand the way milk smells and tastes. .U.C.K.Y.

She is so darling. She looks like a big girl

Thanks for all the nice comments ladies, as well as advice. She's a completely normal 1 year old. She's full of energy and such a brut....she doesn't get hurt easily. If she does cry when she falls it's because she's mad!! Crazy girl.

adriana is absolutely adorable! i cnat get over how much she looks like my sister at that age. if my computer hadnt crash and erased all my pics id show ya,

and as far as the milk its hard for kids to give up two things they love, id rather liam drink from a cup but he doesnt want it that way so i figure its better to ,et him have the bottle for now and when hes use to the milk go for the cup all the way

I love how cute her hair always looks. You always find the best ways to play with her hair, and they always compliment her. Adriana is such a beauty!

I don't know what to say about the milk thing. I can't stand drinking white milk. If it's not chocolate, I can't stand it unless .i'm having cookies or cake or cereal. Laughing
