Q: Emotional Problems After Stopping Yasmin?

I have recently stopped taking my birth control, Yasmin. I am currently 23 and have been on the pill sense I was 16. Sense I have been off the Yasmin, I have been an emotional wreck. I have the most terrible mood swings when pms'ing and when not. I cant tell if these mood swings are attributed to the Yasmin or if its just me becoming bipolar? Has anyone had related symptoms ?

It is possible that the lack of horomones from the yasmin is ow causing your body and mind to react differently. If you can, I would suggest getting back on the pill; it seems to help you.

I suffer from the same thing!
I am having exactly the same problems! I too am 23 (although 2 years younger than you currently are) and have been on the pill too since I was 16. I was started on a progesterone only pill that made me so ill. I was then put on a pill called Clare. I can't find the details. I was put on Yasmin when I was 18. I have other reasons to be depressed but I never was until I stopped taking the pill. I realise that anytime I stop taking Yasmin, I become really depressed. This includes breaks and the week of my period. I am currently not taking it as I need a hormone profile. I have heard that women can be depressed whilst taking it, but what about when they stop taking it? What happens then? I'd be interested in what happened to you.
