If anyone had prior or current experience, please advise. I was diagnosed with a lower lumbar l4/l5 3mm herniated disk back in 1999. Since then, i've had 2 epideral injections with the last one lasting almost 2 years. However, just last month, I am having a relapse. My symptoms has come back 100%. However, the funny thing is this time around, I cannot lie down. When I was first showing symptoms in 99', I couldn't wait to sit or lie down every few hours. However, this time, I cannot lie down or straighten out my legs at night. I haven't slept well in the past 4 days due to this and had to sleep sitting up last night. Right now at work, I have a burning sensation in my thigh and my lower back. I currently also am not covered by a group insurance. I do have a personal insurance due to me being laid off in november (not cobra). However, I have a $2000 deductible I have to meet and I don't have that kind of money. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to sleep? What medication have you tried that has helped? Please advise.

Not really experienced in this, but with my hip problem, I get severe sleep problems.
I find 2 x soluble co-codamol as good as anything the doc gave me !

Extremely eHealthy
On script - vioxx.

Pharmacist medicine here - mersyndol or cheaper brands I find are great it is also a muscle relaxant which helps as the pain tenses me.

Heat pads I also find useful.

There are also some natural things you could search the net for or ask at health stores but one is dhea, another is sam-e, also a combined tablet of glucosamine & chondroitin (650-1000mg of each twice a day) but remember the natural things can be great but they take time (everyone is different) to get into your system).

Tens machines help alot of people too.

Good luck
