I have been having menstrual like cramping in between periods, and abnormal periods as well. I was checked out for pregnancy but my tests were negative, Im not pregnant. I had an pelvic ultrasound to check for cysts, but do not have any.
To tell the truth I was very upset, part of me was hoping the tests were wrong and I was pregnant. After the ultrasound i cried for almost 4 hours. I just cant figure out whats wrong, and I am still having the cramps. Anyone know anything about what could be causing the cramps, its not pregnancy Sad , and no cysts. Any ideas, my doctors really arent telling me anything.

are you on birth control of any type? I know one friend who had similar problems and it turned out that her hormones were just completely crazy. Her doctor put her on birth control to level out her hormone levels and her symptoms became much more manageable.

No, I am not on any birth control, I have been back to the doctor's and now they think it could be intestinal, and prescribed me amitryptiline for the mild pain, but I have to wait to take it because there is now a chance I could be pregnant, its not likely (I think I might have been ovulating that week) but that isnt a risk im willing to take. I did have my hormone levels checked out, but at the time they were all normal, I didnt get them all checked out just a certain few, like my LH, prolactin, testostrone, estrogen, and blood sugar, that was it. My blood sugar was way low but I already knew it was, im hypoglycemic.

I am prescribed amitryptiline for an antidepressant. I have been told that it is safe to take while I am pregnant. You may want to contact your ob/gyn and ask them how they feel about you taking this while pregnant. Every doctor will have different opinions.

Good luck!
