i read a book that really helped me a lot. it's by a guy named Richard Kale who beat an anxiety disorder without doctors or medication. the guy was so low at points that he ended up having to leave college and was suicidal at points. in the book he talks about what it took for him to get better. it's good to know that there is someone out there that has overcome the same problems that you have. i feel a lot more confident that i can get better. he's a really intelligent guy. he gives out his email with the book so people can talk to him. it's richard.e.kale@gmail.com. he's a really friendly guy. i talk with him regularly. the book is only $5. he has a day job, but spends a lot of time trying to help people with anxiety disorders. i suggest the book to anyone .he recieves hundreds of emails a day and returns them all.

That sounds a lot like the book we used in my group by sam obitz. Is this one also cbt based? If not what was his key to getting better? Did he ever go the med route? Obitz was on meds for years before he got better with cbt. I found it very helpful to read the words of people that had overcome their problems with anxiety and depression that do not read like textbooks. Thanks for sharing.

Zam it would be nice to hear what Kale did if you see this reply. I am really curious if it was cbt or something else?

Cind, be careful with those tranquilizers. It sounds like you took different kinds together and that is not safe! Try and find a cbt group in your area as panic attacks that come from out of the blue are common and if you learn to catch the thoughts you have that lead to panic you can begin to expose them and counter them and your panic will disappear Laughing

i hope you are okay now because mixing tranquilizers is like playing with fire. Give cbt a try and you might be able to get off tranquilizers for good.
