i am 47years of age had an underactive thyroid fo 5years now i have been having very heavy periods they are so bad anyone else have this problem ?

Has your doctor said your thyroid issues and your period are related? You may have something else going on.

A blood test will determine your thyroid function. Heavy bleeding during menstruation may be a symptom of many things. Watch that you are getting enough iron in your diet - cereal such as shredded wheat is high in iron.
