Worms!!

Hi

My girlfriends pet dog has acquired worms - very nice! He has been treated with tablets, but we don't know how long he has had them. She is always good with hygiene but she always pets the dog. My question is, can worms harm the unborn baby if she accidentally got them? She is 29 weeks along and so far doing well. Other than malnutrition I don't know if they can pass to the unborn? And also how do you know if you actually have worms?!! Would it be an obvious thing all bar what you see when you go to the bathroom? Should we see the midwife and ask her advice? We're not overly worried but I don't want a big fat worm taking the baby's nutrients (puke!).

Sorry if I have turned your stomachs Rolling Eyes

speak to your midwife - definately.

and from now on make sure you keep your dog on a proper worming routine to prevent this happening.
