Hi my name is souhilla and I am 16 years old. I want to know if I have ms. For the past month I have been pulling muscles everywere. At first I thought I was not warming up properly before p.E but then I started pulling them so often that it could not be from my pe class. Then I figured I only have p.E once a week, and I dont exercise any other time. I have pulled muscles in both shoulders, left and right sides of my stomach ,and both legs in like the inner thigh area. All happened one after the other. As a result of some sport I played.I mean I know pulling a muscle is common but I pull them so often. Im only sixteen and I can barely run across the room.I gave also lost weight. And my parents are very worryed. They think it's ms.But I dont think it is I have perfect vision,i dont shake and only recently I have felt a weird feeling in my legs and I am really tired, but I think thats all mental because I am so worried that I have ms and I keep reading the symtoms online. All this has happend within too months. And I am really getting scared because my cousin had ms and she died at the age of 21. Is it genetic. I went to the doctor and she said she does not think I have ms but she told me to get a blood test. But the weird thing is I went to the hospital not too long ago for the pain in my side and they gave me a cat scan and blood test to see what was wrong an nothing showed up it was just a muscle strain. And that was like a few months ago. Wouldnt the cat scan show that I have ms?. I dont want to tell my parents about the weird tingling feeling in my legs b/c they are worryed enough. I would really appreciate it if some one could help me answer these questions as soon as possibe. I am so worryed that I can barley focus on my school work.
thanx ~souhilla

Hi,

I think I understand how worried you are and I'm sorry you are going through this.
MS is very rare in people your age. It can begin tha early but very rare from what I know.
Did the fatigue and weird feelings begin after you started reading about the symptoms.
I can get worried about symptoms and my body will create all kinds of feelings that can last for a long time from worry and anxiety.
Can you describe the weird feelings in your legs?
Is it numbness or weakness, tingling? Do the feelings come and go or are they constant?
The CAT scan would not show MS lesions. You would need an MRI.
If you can first try and calm yourself because it would be unlikely that you have it and also even if you did, the fact that your cousin passed away from it at 21 is awful but extremely rare. Most people (85%) or so with MS can expect a normal lifespan .

finally some one replyed I am going nuts. I am soo stressed out! I keep going to the doctor and they keep on running a bunch of test and they find nothing. I had two blood tests, 4 different x rayz and just today I got an mri done on my back. my symptoms are back pain along the spine(like when I sneeze or get out of bed I feel very sharp pains along my spine), I am constantly pulling muscles with liltle or no activity, the current ones are my right inner thight near groin, and my left side near rib cage.also my right knee hurts to the point wear I can barley walk on it . I am going through all of this pain and all my doctors is doing is loading me up on pain killers witch dont help my knee situation at all. and to answer your ?? . no I do not have numbing sensations just pain which causes me to become weak. Sad

thank you so much for helping me Very Happy
