I have severe osteoarthritis of my entire spine and DDD. A spinal fusion has been suggested for L1-10. It has also been suggested by another MD to rid myself of abdomnal fat so that perhaps the weight loss there will help my back. I have refused the fusion. I have been told that an abdominoplasty might be too much of a change for my spine to handle. Is this a viable option or would it not be enough of a weight loss from my abdomen to help or fast enough to make a difference.
