Well my husband and I have been trying for over a year and we found out that my husband's motility and count are not "up to par" for natural conception but are good in IUI/AI standards. I start clomid next month and am so excited for the possibilities but scared for the possbile dissapointment as well. If anyone has any kind of comments or what to expect on clomid it would be so appreciated I just feel the more I know the more confident I will feel. The doctor said I will use clomid for 3 cycles then go to injections. Is it wrong to think there is a possibility for success in the first 3 cycles of clomid??

Hello!
Welcome to the Clomid Club! This was my first month on Clomid, and I was an EMOTIONAL WRECK!
After about the 3rd pill, I would wake up about every hour on the hour and it would take me a good 20 minutes to get myself back to sleep.
I would have hot flashes alll day long as well.

I'm now on day 21 (its been 12 days since taking my last pill) and I cried for an hour last night about nothing. Its horrible!

You are NOT wrong for thinking you'll get preg within 3 months. I read a statistic that said of women who DO get pregnant on Clomid, 85% of them get pregnant within the first 3 months.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks
thanks so much for the response, thought it would be a bit of hormonal hell but if it works then it is worth it. Your statistic definitely made me smile!! I heard clomid makes your cycles longer to, is that true?

My fingers are crossed for you this month, good luck and thanks again!

Smile I am finding it hard not to get my hopes up for my first cycle, but I'm not sure what kind of person I'll be with a 2nd or even 3rd round of Clomid! Twisted Evil

I started using Ovulation Predictor Kits in October, and would get faint positives around day 17 or 18, and that would give me a 31 or 32 day cycle.

This month, I bought a Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor to use along with my OPKs, and got a peak reading on both on CD14!!! (I also had Ovulation pain that same night) so...I'm HOPING that since I ovulated that early (its really not early, its normal, lol) that I will have a perfect 28 day cycle! I wont know until my period shows (but I'm hoping she doesn't of course lol)

I forgot to tell you that I did have a small amount of breakthrough bleeding on my 3rd day (after my 2nd pill) and also, I took my pills at night so as to minimize the side effects.

Thanks for the blessing! I hope you get your positive pregnancy test after 1 cycle on Clomid!

(you can visit twoweekwait.com and read the success stories, it always brightens me up a little to read them!)

Hey
The clearblue easy one is very accurate, I used that one for awhile and after a couple of months you know when you ov and don't have to buy the sticks anymore. So I assume you are using clomid and don't need to do IUI?? Do they still do the ultrasounds/monitor you? We are doing IUI with clomid so we will see how that all goes, funny how everyone just assumes getting pregnant will be a fun easy time!

Please keep in touch and let me know how it is going, if not this month (which I hope it is for you) I am sure by 3 cycles you will be talking about morning sickness instead of clomid!!!

Hi there
This is our 20th month TTC, and my first month on clomid. We were away on vacation during ovulation last week, so we couldn't do our first round of iui. Hopefully we won't need it. I'm on cd 19.
I didn't have any symptoms from clomid at all...well, no hot flashes or bleeding etc. I did have weird cm, and I hear that it causes hostile cm....so we used preseed every time we b'd.

I tested with opk first thing in the morning, I know it says not to use the fisrt morning urine, but my RE told me that when we go for IUI, we need to test first thing in the morning and call right away for dh to submit a sample when the opk is positive. My problem is, the line never goes darker than the test line....and there were 3 days with an 'almost' as dark line....so when is it positive? Do the clear blue easy opk strips work for morning testing?

Thank you
cpr

I am also doing the Clomid/IUI treatment. I am taking the 50 mg. I always have a 25 day cycle like clockwork, so the clomid hasn't changed that at all. I notice that my CM is a lot more so I definitely know when I am nearing ovulation. My RE has me doing follicular studies so he knows how my response to clomid is and when to time the HCG injection and IUI. I am a lot more emotional on Clomid, I find my self with the overwhelming desire to cry for no reason and my PMS is a lot worse. But the clomid also increases my libido so I want to BD all the time, my DH is enjoying that immensely.

Good luck, my RE says usually if Clomid/IUI is going to work, it happens in the first 4 cycles.

baby dust to you and good luck.

I took clomid to get pregnant the first time and within 3 months it worked, my son is almost 2 and we're going to start trying for #2. My Dr. said usually if it doesn't work within the 3-6 months it probably won't.. So good luck!!!

Clomid and I are not friends! I had horrible side effects, but I was willing to put up with them...after all, I wanted a baby right? I was on cycles for about 6 times and nothing. The Dr. suggested IVF after that. Every woman is different ans responds differently...this is why there are so many infertility patients! We can not be mapped out easily.
BTW, I was a bit psychotic on clomid, so the crying for no reason thing....I can relate! And I would be major hot and rip my clothes off, then freezing and ask where my jacket was...insanity at it's best!
