Q: Cool Mist Humidifier?

This is probably the stupidest question ever.. But what the heck is a cool mist humidifier? I have 2 humidifiers, is it the same thing?

if it's blowing out cooler air then it's a cool mist.


the warmer ones blow out steam....and they normally need salt and stuff like that.

Most humidifiers have a heating element to heat and boil the water to send out the mist. Cool-mist humidifiers work without heating the water. A motor forces the water droplets into a mist which is then dispersed into the air. The do the same things, just one heats up and other doesn't.
