Hi ladies,

I need help on how to help my husband improve his sperm count. Presently, I am taking clomid and metformin and my cycles have improved. I am ovulating but my husband was diagnosed for low sperm count. He has been taking vitamin E, according to the doctor. But no improvement.

Has anyone tried other methods, which has worked???

Should I try IUI, is there a 90% chance???

I've read that the boxer v. briefs thing is just a myth, but heat really is a factor. Does your husband like long hot showers, does he take hot baths or use a hot tub, or does he go to the sauna?

Other factors affecting sperm count are smoking, alcohol use, drug use (including some OTC drugs), and stress. Excessive exercise does not hurt sperm count.

As far as nutrition, the book I have says 300 mg of vitamin E twice a day, 2 g per day of L-carnitine and 1 g per day of acetyl-L-carnitine, plenty of vitamin C (extra 250-1000 mg if smoking), and daily multivitamin plus selenium and folate if multi has less than 100%.
