To make a nursery for the baby? I am 16 weeks pregnant and my mom is setting up a baby shower in .June so I will have everything I already need from the baby shower. My friend made her nursery when she was around 25 weeks, but I don't know if that's too soon or should I do it now that I have the energy.

i would wait till your atleast 25ish weeks, so its done by the time the baby gets here even if he/she is early, and you know the sex, thats if u choose to find out. personaly we dont have a nursery, i rather have my baby in my room with us (but in a crib) until he can call for me, i dont think i could sleep with the static noises from the baby monitar

It doesn't really matter when you set up the room for the baby. Just make sure you aren’t huge when you do, because that is when it gets hard.

You won't necessarily have everything you need from the shower so you should make sure that you save money for what you do need. Just because it’s on your registry you might not get everything off of it. Some people might not even shop off of it. so don’t count on your baby shower for everything you need.

i agree with gen, i think i got 3 things off my registry at my shower. nick and i had to go buy everything else and it wasn't cheap. lots of people don't like to shop off a registry because baby shopping is too fun, they want to pick out something cute on their own. i got a lot of clothes and stuffed animals at my shower.

we set up our nursery around 34-35 weeks, but that's because we moved when i was 33 weeks.

"b" is right, people buy the cute stuff.

and i'll admit that before I had amelia i was likethat too.....but now because i got almost nothing off my list....i always shop for people off their list....because i know what it's like not to get what i want/need.

you can tell people till you are blue in the face to shop off of it...but itdoesnt' mean they will

I'm not sure when we will get to our nursery. We are having to do some renovating just to make sure the baby has a room. It's nearing completion, but still has some work to be done. I am 18.5 weeks along now, so hopefully within the next 6-8 weeks we can start on it.

I really hope people stick with my registry list. Luckily though, we have had alot of the stuff we need handed down to us from my sister. She gaves us a crib, a changing table and a highchair. I think the hospital gives us an infant carrier...some do, some don't around here. I need to check that out for sure. I know there's still a ton of stuff we'll need, but at least we have a few of the major pieces!!!!

infant carrier meaning car seat? i thought hospitals only had some on hand for the people who couldn't afford to buy one, since you can't leave without one.

Yep, an infant carseat. I'm not sure if the hospital I'm going to be delivering at gives them away (I'm thinking no, because it's a fairly big city), but I know the hospital the next town over gives them to all first time moms.
