Hi all,

i hope someone has had the same experience as me. When I was about 8 years old, my cousin pulled a sirenge into my left eye. Not the needle, but the back part of the sirenge, its kind of like a circle. I was completely blind for that entire day. However I regained vision on my right eye, and my left side vision remained blurry (almost blind). Doctors said that I needed surgery asap, and I had it. However, this didnt work. I still could not see completely from my left eye.

Now I am 28 years old and still see blurry from that eye. In addition, the eye is still lazy. Has anyone had the same experience and is there anything that can be done to correct both, the lazy eye, and the blurriness.

Re: Accident, Lazy, And Lost of Vision
Hello, im can kind of relate, ok here is my story. My son is 4, and he has a lazy eye (blurred vision almost blind) and what they are doing to try to correct that is patching up his good eye, making his "bad" eye work, they said if he were a year older, there would be nothing that they could do to help him. Im not sure about the injury part though, just thought I would through in my relationship to the "lazy eye" part. Hope that you find something that will work for you.. Did they say that you are legally blind? Because that is what the doctor said about my son, she said that if they dont fix it now, when he would become an adult, they would consider him as legally blind, and he would not be able to drive a car etc

Re: Accident, Lazy, And Lost of Vision
Hi,

thanks for your help. No, I am not legally blind (though I have never check when I came to the usa, my surgery was done in dominican republic), I can still see from my right eye after 20 years. I can also see from my left eye, just that it is very blury. But it always was the same way and I never regained vision or lost it.

I can still drive a car and have a normal life. But after having this problem for so many years, I now want to fix it. Plus, imagine if I loose my vision on the right eye, that would be a problem.

Thanks again,
