Q: Dating a Co-worker

I know there must be a million different scenarios when dealing with this topic, so I'll lay out a situation and you tell me if you think this might be a good or bad idea?

A man and a woman work in the same building, different bosses and responsibilities though. She's much younger, 23, he is 39. She is attracted to him, and he her, and they flirt by email only (so far). Odds are he'll be employed there until retirement age, but she'll move on to a higher position in a different building or out of the company completely within a couple years.

So if you're that guy or gal, do you go for it?

Why wouldn't you date them? I'm not suggesting marriage or anything, but dating for awhile, seems okay by me!

I can see how a break up might affect you in the halls or at company events and what not, but that is just the price we pay for relationships, right?? Very Happy

Yes. I'd get to know each other as friends first, but then yes I'd go for it.

I'm just really feeling things out with her now, I don't think I'm ready to actually "date"...I am ready for some fun though, but this one would be someone I would want to date, so I dont want to get involved with her now.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with it (dating as coworkers)...we're both adults right? I think I'd say something up front like "you know if this doesn't work out for whatever reasons, let's promise each other to not let it affect our jobs". I think for both sides that would be good and agreeable, even if it ended ugly. Why lose your job by making an ass out of yourself if she does you wrong....

We are flirting on email and passing in the halls, I think she really likes me. She is much younger than I am (39 - 23), and Im sure that will bring out a whole set of unique problems, but I'm game! Did I mention she's HOT!?!
