Sorry .I wasent very clear .I was on my sidekick not a computer.
It is the .Only national certification offered for .American .Sign .Language .Interpreters. They closed it down for about a year and a half and re did the whole test you have to take a written part first and pass it before you can take the "performance" part (actually signing and voicing.) I passed the written part in Sept and took the Performance part in december 3 months later .I passed with the Advanced level (3 levels certified, advanced and master) .I'm so excited because people who had taken the old version and had the highest level on that have taken the new version and failed. I was just hoping for the "certified" level but advanced .WOOO.HOOO

Congratulations! How exciting!

My daughter's uncle (.fiance's brother) is def. We have been trying to teach her as much as possible so that they can comm. better.

He doesn't do sign, he reads lips. But he knows sing and is willing to read up on it for her.

I feel like their relationship will only flourish because of sign.

Sarah

Ok this is terriable but when I graduated from collage there were pretty much two groups ( I was between the two as always) and when I called a girl from the "slacker" group to tell her she was crazy "I can't wait untill those B?#$s find out that you passed and they didn't" It was sad but really funny all at the sametime. Embarassed

I'm pretty pleased with myself it feels like a whole diffrent ball game now that i'm "offical." Smile

My uncle's deaf. I either write on a piece of paper or I open up "notepad" if .i'm near a computer, since I type super fast.

The only signs I know are: the alphabet, "sign language", thank you, and sit. Laughing

My cousin .andrew (my uncle's son) is fluent in .english and .a.s.l (well, as fluent as he can be at 8 years old), and he knows some .czech (they lived in .prague for years) and some .japanese (he's half japanese). I think his school in .texas is starting to teach him .spanish, too.

He's a smart kid. I feel really dumb with my little pad of paper sitting next to him. Neutral

Sarah that isn't true, my grandmother can do both although she isn't fluent (is that the right word/) in asl. our relationship with our grandmother is wonderful....my little sister is 5 and she is able to form words with her mouth very well for my grandmother....i am the only one in my family who can sign (sorta)....their relationship will be wonderful either way.

oh and great for opassing.
