I've read that you can have braxton hicks throughout pregnancy but is 26 weeks too early? My belly suddenly feels tight and then loosens it's only happened a couple of times and she's moving around fine so i'm not worried just wondered what they were.
Thanks

it's quite common.
if they are only here or there and infrequent.

just be aware that if they get to more than (I think) 4 in an hour you might want to call your midwife.

Sorry dear, I don't really know how soon you can get them, but I was just wondering what they are. My sister in law keeps talking about them, but I am not sure what they are. She says her belly gets real tight when she is having them.

Braxton Hicks happen throughout your entire pregnancy... Sometimes you just don't feel them. It's basically your uterus preparing itself for the real things. You don't have anything to worry about unless they start to become painful. Or if there is any bleeding. If that happens call the doctor as soon as possible.

This explains braxton hicks in a little more detail. Make sure everything is lower case.
