Is stress the most likely cause for an eye twitch that I have had for well over a week?

Yes it is. It will go away...

Get more rest than you usually need to get.

Eye Twitching is a blinking disorder....it usually starts with an abnormal or excessive blinking that leads to irritation to the eyes...One that cause this is when we are expose to bright lights and when we are tired or under a great deal of stresses..

All you need is a sound night sleep to rest the eyes..So it wont go wost.

^ I agree. I have experienced the eye twitching myself, and yes it is a blinking disorder, but it is most likely sparked by a lot of stress in your life. Once anxiety kicks in, you start to get less and less sleep, and your eye gets more and more irritated.

Like louieann34 said... get some sleep. And I will add - LOTS of it.

OIC now I know why my eyes sometimes twitch local belief here said that if your eyes twitch (depends on which eyes) either one is going to have an argument or meeting someone who have long not seen. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

If the eye twitching gets to bothering you too much a simple way that I found on the web to alleviate it is to take your finger and rub from the inside of your eye and out gently for about a minute and it will go away. It really does work I have used this technique many times.

My Healing Experience From The Like-Eye-blinking Sickness
My Healing Experience From The Like-Eye-blinking Sickness

From what you have mentioned about the serious conditions of your eye-blinking sickness, I would very much want to tell you that I have suffered from the similar symptoms (eye-blinking of countless times in a split second - I have suffered from it for about one year and then I finally get it totally cured through acupuncture therapy a few years back having sought other numerous but futile treatments from the other medical specialists / personnel) due to the neurological muscle spasms side effects of dopamine-disturbing medications of certain antipsychotics meant for the treatment of certain mental disorders.

Hence, I would like to share with you my healing experience from such an annoying sickness and I hope that you will somehow draw some useful reference from the information given.

In this regard, out of the articles giving details about my healing experience from such a chronic eye-blinking sickness, please look for the one entitled ' A New Version For The Self-administered Acupuncture Cure For Non-stop Persistent Eyelid-twitching' from the weblink :

of this website.

Lastly, I hope that you will in turn get benefited from the information provided. Thank you.

ok ok i will tell you how i got my eye twitch i was in a hotel with my friends doing lines of cocaine and drinking hypnotic and alize soo we could say we were having a party " then all of a sudden my friend looks into my eye and says why are you closing your one eye i looked into the mirror and saw that my eye was twitching and my heart like a heart attack almost i sat there while they called the ambulance ( we were drinking energy drinks also) " can you say death at least thats what the paramedics where telling me that i should be dead with all the lines of cocaine the energy drinks and alchohol, i had to keep my hand over my eye from freaking out because i was calm when this was happening and if i opened my one eye i could not see out of either it was almost like a heart beat in my eye, i couldnt see, they took me in and gave me ativan and put me on the ecg twice and gave me a very powerful ativan and then prescribed me a lower dosage and now i still get that eye twitch once in a while... the eye twitch lasted for an hour almost thank god that experience is done and over and i havent touched cocaine since... just to let you guys no that i get very minor eye twitchs now not nearly as i had when i was rushed to the hospital i could not open my eye it just closed by its self and yess very scrayy experience just thought any one out there would like to no how it happened to me ....
