I was wondering if you can dye your hair during pregnancy, also I used to use this Johnsons body lotion that is supposed to give you an all round tan, but subtle not orange bimbo styleee. Can I still use this cream and dye my hair ladies? I'm 14 weeks pregnant.

I think there are conflicting reports on using hair dye in pregnancy. Some people say "no, absolutely not", others say "not until such-and-such trimester" and others say "not if you have an open wound on your scalp". I think it might be okay as long as you're in a well-ventilated room so the fumes don't overwhelm you.

As far as the tanning lotion, I have no idea. I would read the back of the bottle and call your doctor/midwife just to be safe.

My sister's a re hairdresser and said to me that they advse you not to have a colour applied directly to your scalp because the dye could get into the bloodstream through a small cut. Also doing a home dye kit is advised against because you're more likely to breathe in the fumes. I would say if you really can't wait untill you've given birth have a colour done in foils because that carries the smaller risk, they're all small risks but thats what i would do personally, it's your call

I dyed my hair early on in pregnancy. I knew I was pregnant, but seriously didn't even consider it might be bad until days later when a bunch of people freaked on me! I always have open windows though and hope to god everything was ok. I felt so guilty for so long!
there really are so many different people that are gonna tell you different things... I think you'll be fine, but you never know!

YES YOU CAN DYE IT JUST MAKE SURE YOURE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA AND YOU DO NOT BREATHE IN THE FUMES..

the only reason to not dye you hair is that it may not take as expected.
In other words it may take really strongly or it might hardly take at all - same goes for perming.

you won't absorb anything into the blood stream to hurt baby.
but, do make sure the place is well ventilated though.

It will get better!! I went through the whole of my first trimester and some of my second feeling like a zombie but now i'm bouncing around with energy! My hair look so bad too, i have mine done to a brown a shade lighter then black, bright red in the fringe and sides with bleach underneath and i have roots that look grey and ornagy-pink fringe and sides, the blondes ok though just rooty!

The dyes that are used today are safe to use while pregnant. I have my cosmetology license and my mom and grandmother do as well. Both of them did hair while pregnant (my mom with all 4 of us and my grandmother with all 5) The colors that are used today go through alot of testing and like all the girls say just do it in a well ventilated room and youll be fine.

mydoc told me the dying your hair isnt bad while pregnant, its going to a hair dresser i dont think id do cuz those places smell really strong, but even than the doc said its ok, she said its if i was working at a hair place that it could be dangerous. the reason why dying your hair sucks while pregnant is that it doesnt really stick, ive dyed my hair red 3 times the past 9 months and after washing my hair twice its already washed out, its like what! so i gave up and just gonna wait till shes out loL
