if i am takin birth control and having to take an antibiotic will it cancel out the effects of the birth control?

i am taking yaz birth control...and my doctor put me on a generic brand of bactrim for my acne...i'm not sexually active but i am taking this to help with all the pain i have during my periods...and for if i do decide to have sex...i was just curious if the antibiotic would cancel out the birth control...

To both of you:

yes, antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control, but you need to talk to your doctors to find out what to do in the meantime.

Eiri is right.....

Any medication can lower the effects of the pill~use a condom with bc during that time~
