Sad can u please give me some advice pls with my mri scan results my doctor spoke to me about it but i was totaly confused afterwards
here are the results
findings :normal vertebral body alignment. The cord terminates at L1 and the cauda equina appears within normal limits.
There is evidence of disc dehydration at T12/L1 with a schmorles node distorting the superior cortical endplate of L1
More significant disc dehydration is seen at L5/S1 though the disk space here is preserved.
There is a focal area of high signal in the region of the posterior annulus of the L5/S1 disc which is displacing the posterior longitudinal ligament.
This is likely to represent at small focal annular tear/disruption.
The axial sections through this region however show that this is causing only a minor indentation of the thecal sac and the L5 nerve root exit foramina remain spacious.
There is evidence of minor facet joint arthrosis in the lower lumber spine but this is not impinging significantly on the lateral recesses or the foramina.
If you could please help me with understanding this in simple english i would be very much appreciated
ps im a forty years of age male who use to be very active but now have back pains and leg pains all the time, and taking Tramadol hydrochloride capsules every 4 hours and under physio therapist 1 time a week since october 06
