Q: Buttock Acne

I have gotten these red boil-like bumps just on the skin of my buttock. These bumps are very painful and most of the time end up bleeding before they will get better. i have seen an OBGYN to confirm that this is none other than a skin problem, and she said it is very hard to get rid of and more common than i think. I have been told that a year on antibiotics are only going to possibly treat, but that isn't even definate. I have scars from these occuring over the years since about 13 years old. What might help prevent this.

I've had these things forever and I'm using a cream called Dermovate. I believe it's a hormone cream. It helps a bit but does not stop them totally. Let me know if you find anything else please.

acne cream
the cream I use is PanOxyl Aquagel, just moving from 2.5 strength to 5 (it goes up to 10) and I'm seeing some improvement. The leaflet says it has 'an antibacterial and a peeling effect' I got it on the pharmacists recommendation and so far so good. I should add that I use Clearasil wipes on the skin prior to applying the Pan Oxyl, so to make sure the skin is really clean Smile Good luck|!
