Q: How Much Solid Foods Should He Be Eating?

Landon is starting to really like his solid foods, (hes 6 and a half months now Shocked

) especially when i introduced bananas today as a dessert. my question is do i let him eat his solids as much as he'll eat or do i need to stop him from eating so much? Cuz right now i just put about 1/4 jar in a bowl of veggies and the same for bananas and he eats it all and then i give him a bottle after aswell.but should i be giving more solids until he turns his head and stops eating?

im not really sure what you meant by that, but once they turn away, that is the sign that they are done. follow his cues, he will tell you when he is full. he should still be getting most of his nutrition from formula/breastmilk at this age.
have you read any baby books? im just wondering because you always have all these questions about feeding your son, and there are baby books written by doctors that have some great information on this stuff.

Natalia's right about this one. Once they turn their head they are pretty much done.

And I have to agree, I have some great baby/toddler cookbooks that explain when and how to feed infants and toddlers.

ya i know once he turns his head that means hes full, it's just should i feed him til he does that? or leave him a bit hungry for the bottle after?

i usually do solids in between bottles...it works out the best for us that way. like he has a bottle every 3-4 hours, so i will usually give him solids like an hour before he wants a bottle.

ya that's how I did it with trey too. I wouldn't give him a bottle with his food.

since about 4 months, I gave .oni a vegetable, a fruit, and her 6oz bottle. In the same sequence as it's written.

Of course, all baba's are different and one feeding habit could be totally opposite of another's!

If he turns his head it could mean he's full, or he needs something to help him wash it down. Try givin him a sip of water every couple of bites.

ya e letsm e know when he's full, pushes it away and gets fisty haha, and then has a bottle like an hour or so later. so i think thats pretty good Smile
