Good afternoon chaps.
I suffered from a very tight foreskin for years, and in fact tore the frenulum on a couple of occasions, until my GP finally referred me to have the snip on the NHS.
So, last Tuesday, having shown my Johnson to a vast number of people in the preceding months, had my operation postponed twice, and built up a healthy dread of the impending operation, I went along to the Day Surgery Unit at my local hospital and had the job done.
The wound was wrapped in gauze and surgical bandages when I woke up, and the doctor advised me to leave these on until the next day, when I was to run myself a salty bath and sit in it for half an hour. That I duly did, and the dressing came off in the warm water to reveal the full extent of the butchery that had taken place. Not pretty - something like Frankenstein's cousin.
The doctor advised me to redress the wound after this daily bathing ritual, for the first week or so. All well.
The problem only began when my little fellow became sufficiently well for me to begin to have erections during the night again. Not only was this excruciatingly painful, waking me up several times every night, but I also lost two of the dissolvable stitches that been put into the wound to help the two edges of skin bind together.
I went back to the hospital and saw a consultant urologist who told me that this would not be a problem, that the wound would heal whether or not the two stitches in question had fallen out. I then had my follow up operation with my GP, who also said that the wound was healing OK and that the missing stitches were not a cause for concern.
However...
Ten days after the operation, the wound is still bleeding (albeit only sporadically), mostl obviously from the area where the two stitches had fallen out. If the skin is pulled back at all, I have the impression that there is nothing holding the skin together. This is in sharp contrast to the other side of the wound, where the two edges have joined together nicely.
As well as this, there is still swelling just underneath the line of the wound. I am under no illusions as to the trauma that my poor willy must have been put through in this process, but the swelling is very uneven, (again, mostly on the side of the penis where the two stitches fell out).
Can anyone who has had the operation or knows anything about post operation recovery set my mind at ease?
Thanks very much,
Alex
