This is the abortion support forum, so
talking about refused abortions really
isn't a good topic for her.
Perhaps a mod could move this to the
abortion debate forum?
Until this happens, here's my reply:
Some clinics will refuse an abortion to a
girl or woman who is not completely sure
of herself, who is being forced by someone
else, or who is getting one but doesn't
want one. Giving an abortion to women in
this mental state often does more harm
than good. Abortion is a choice, but not
the best solution in all cases.
Aside from that, women may be refused an
abortion if she is too far along in the
pregnancy; this will be discovered during
the required ultrasound to pinpoint the
fetus' age. In many places, a woman cannot
get an abortion past 20-25 weeks unless it
is for a medical need, such as a deformed
fetus or danger to the mother.
Those are the only reasons I can think of,
and the first example is really dependant
on the clinic; some places will go through
with the abortion even if the woman seems
unsure; but most care enough to confirm
her resolve. The second example is the
only actual legal reason a woman would
be refused an abortion, that I know of.
