Just had some blood work done and my cholesterol was below 200 but my triglycerides were nearly 600. I don't understand the difference between the two. Could someone explain the difference and what's more important? Thanks.

Triglycerides are the blood fats responsible for artery clogging, cholesterol is a repair substance that your body needs. You need to get your triglycerides down..fast. Try a low carb/high fat diet like Atkins and I guarantee they will tumble and your doctor will be amazed. If you have a normal cholesterol reading that means that you are not suffering from any illness, disease or injury elsewhere in your body so you don't need any extra, but triglycerides are dangerous and should be got down low now.
