What is this and why are only a certain few titled with this?

Did I miss something? Or was I just not informed?

I figured, I got *bookoo* posts, and I wasn't asked to support the forum?

I feel like I've been segregated...

The supporters volunteered by sending a pm to admin. It's been on a sticky for a long time on most of the forums.

not sure how the mods were picked (advanced support). I think .i'd make a decent mod... Neutral

...but then again maybe not. Who knows? Laughing

*edit*

oops, or maybe not! I just got in trouble with admin for my posts on that suicide thread on the teen forum. See, this is why .i'm glad in a way that .i'm not a mod. I would be representing ehealth and would have to somewhat censor myself more than I would like to. I still have to do that as a supporter too, but...

meh. Responsibility. Sad

well, the stickies were made in most forums and so few long term/regulars actually volunteered that the admin team backed down their requirements and considered everyone who applied and did some trial runs.

there are forums on this site that do need supporters and moderators.

if you send a pm addressed to "admin" (without the quotes) and tell them which forums you are interested in, they will consider your application.

bear in mind that the ideal is that most forums have 1-2 mods and several supporters.
it simply isn't possible for everyone to mod teen pregnancy and pregnancy.

you need to show an overall level of compassion, knowledge and maturity (no-one is perfect and no-one expects perfection).

It really is a case of "if you don't ask - you don't get".

well, just that a supporter is supposed to support, you know? And not tell people off, really. I'm supposed to make people feel comfortable, welcome, offer advice, etc. And I basically called the girl a liar. Not in so many words, but I said that her story didn't float.

I apologized to .lee for not doing my job as a supporter correctly but told her that I stood by my words. I also said that I trust her judgment with this matter and will respect whatever decision they come up with, if any.

I'm a nice chick, but I don't swallow when people try to spoonfeed me bs, you know what I mean? I just really don't care for people looking for pity. I can't stomach it. So maybe .i'm not cut out for the role of supporter, much less mod. Neutral

I emailed admin about the supporter first, then I asked about the MOD, I am a moderater on the appendix, gallbladder etc forum, and the eating disorder forum. I can bet there are still lots that need moderators. some of the smaller forums. You just gotta PM and ask. You will get a trial run, before they change your title.
