Here's the overall story....

Almost 15 years ago I had unprotected sex (maybe 5 times) with someone I have now learned has died from AIDS..I dont know when he died exactly or when he became infected..I learned of this only a short time ago from a mutual friend who I hadnt seen in about the same amount of time...

I have never been tested for HIV and have only had 2 partners since this time..they I know for a fact are NOT HIV positive..

I have 3 HEALTHY Children..We are talking no ear infections, colds, or fevers, they usually never miss a day of school and are the healthiest kids I know...the youngest 2 were born in 98 & 99 since NY State implemented their HIV Newborn Screening Program. Although I never asked the doctor about their results apparently I would of been informed about their status or mine for that matter when they were born..as the doctor is required to by law...

I myself am NEVER sick. I work around children and people can drop like flies around me and I am always the last one standing. I never run a fever or get swollen glands..Not once in probably at least 15 years..I suffer from allergies in the spring and early fall but that is about the most me feeling ill..

My CBC and platelet count are completely normal they were checked during a routine doctors appointment about a month ago..

Well my question is...Does it sound like I could have HIV from this incounter 15 years ago? I am going to take myself for a test once my doctor gets back from sabbatical (he's on a Doctors' Without Borders type of thing) But until then it would be nice to know that I dont have a lot to worry about..

Extremely eHealthy
Sounds like you're pretty safe. I agree with you, I would think that since you had children, and they tested them, you would know if you had it. I would still get tested just in case, but I don't think the chances sound too high.
