I am ttc and have been unable to obtain folic acid. I was wondering if apples or at least the apple skins, contain folic acid??????????

I'm not sure but why don't you just take prenatal vitamins? They contain folic acid and they are over the counter accessible to anyone

I asked my doc about pre-natal vitamins and he suggested just go to a chemist or health food shop and get folic acid he said there was no specific prenatal vitamin to take. But it might be different in australia.

I have been ttc since late dec, 2003.
I could get the folic acid pills but I just wanted to know if apple skins contained folic acid.

This is what I found (i'm sorry I don't know about the apple skins):
folic acid can be found naturally in liver, fortified cereals or whole-grain breads, dried peas and beans, leafy vegetables, fruit and yeast.
