Q: My Boy Wants to Be Pregnant

My little three year old boy wants to be pregnant. Several times a day, he walks around with a little pillow or stuffed animal in his shirt and tells me he is having a baby. He even pats his belly. Sometimes he says he is having a baby boy. A few times, he actually stuffed his shirt so it looked like he has boobies. One of those times, he said "Mommy, I am big see!!" I about died!! He goes to preschool a few hours a day and I am just waiting to hear the news that he is doing that there. We are currently at my mom's house and he just stuffed my mom's shirt and told her she was having a baby, too!!! He is loving this pregnancy thing!

I don't know if he will like it so much when junior arrives. I know he will get jealous. Everynight, he goes up to my belly and tells junior goodnight. It reminds me of one of the pictures I think Michelle had up of her older child patting her belly. I really need to take a picture and show you. It is just so cute!

That is so cute! You should snap a picture or two of him when he's got his "baby" in his belly. And pull the pictures out years from now when he's entertaining his girlfriend. Laughing

Oh he will be so excited and wanting to help with everything for the first few weeks until that gets boring then he will be axiously awaiting to be able to play with him. I think my boys are about the same age apart as yours just a little bit older though (by 6 months to a year older) and my oldest just loved having a little brother he did not like anyone holding him except me and his dad, he cried if anyone else held him unless he was able to be right there next to them while they held him. He was by his brothers side from day one and I even found him in the crib with his brother when he was only 8 days old it scared me of course becasue I was thought the worst he could slept on top of him or something but once I got over the freaked out part it was really cute. ( I of course had to lecture big bother to tell him he can't do that) Now that they are older big brother will still crawl in bed with little brother or visa versa. They are very close and I am sure your children will be as well.

aww..that is just too cute..my little boys used to play like they were pregnant too...something that helped me out a lot after each of the next sibling was born (I have three..each of them 2 years apart) was that I gave them a baby doll of their own to play with...my older son didn't look at the doll twice, but my younger son would put the doll in his shirt..then when my daughter was born, he would pretend to nurse her...it was too cute, but it helped him a lot to deal with a new sister alien..haha...just a note...I tried to make sure that the doll I gave the boys was dressed in boy looking blue clothes (so as not to freak daddy out..haha)..now all three of my kids, though they do a lot of bickering among one another, are very close and nurturing toward one another...
