Hi all
I am pre-diabetic, on a strict diet and exercise regiment but my morning sugar readings are still above the normal range.

has anyone who was pre-diabetic been put on either of these drugs and not gone on to develop diabetes?
thanks in advance
deb

Those medications won't stop diabetes from progressing at all. They'll just slow the symptoms down. The underlying condition will get worse unless dietary changes and exercise reduce body fat. The only way to stop diabetes from progressing (and indeed to 'reverse' it) is to get the level of body fat reduced to the point that one has little belly fat left.

The only way to stop diabetes is to get well into the thin range of weight (BMI of 22 is ideal), to exercise, and to eat well.
