Q: Could I Have An Ulcer?

I have been feeling nauseous the last week or so and I have been having pains in my abdomen. I have had loss of appetite, I still feel hungry around the time when i'm supposed to eat. Force myself to eat (not my normal amount) and then shortly after I get abdominal pain. I get abdominal pain especially in the morning when I wake up (and like I said before, after I eat). I've also been very thirsty and have had slight constipation. Could I have an ulcer? If so, is there a way to treat it?

Could I Have An Ulcer?
You could have an ulcer as you have many of the symptoms reflected in a ulcer. An ulcer is a sore in the stomach or duodenum. The only way to truly find out if you have an ulcer is to go to a gastrologist and he will probably recommend a endoscopy.

An endoscopy is a procedure in which he examines your stomach with a camera. He can also take biopsy of your stomach to see if you have an infection.

Thats the only way to get a definitive answer.

I am a medical student form England and from listening to your symptoms they could point towards a stomach ulcer, yet there could be other causes. I would recommend that you see your doctor.

I have recently created a web site with all the relevant information on peptic ulcers and i hope it can answer any questions you have about the condition.
