Hi There
If I am not mistaken, I do believe some antibiotics have an effect when combined with taking birth control pills. If it were me, I'd call my OBGYN, family practioner, or whoever prescribed the augmentin and explain and ask these same questions!

That is true indeed. Many antibiotics have bad effects of birth control, making it less effective and not work the same. Contacting your ob-gyn with the name of the antibiotic is the best thing for you to do.

You are spotting because antibiotics reduce the hormones in your blood stream..KEEP taking the pills, or you will bleed much more, like another period.

Keep taking the pills, but it is not safe to have sex until 7 full days AFTER you stop the antibiotic.

You need to be on the pill for 7 full days of non antibiotic use for it to be fully effective.

IF you have had sex in the last 3-5 days, plan b would be a good idea.
