Q: Constant Ache In Testicle

I've had this for 3 weeks now. I first found a very small squidgy lump thing on my scrotum (about half the size of a grain of rice), that felt like it was maybe a nerve aggrovated. That lump has since gone

Once I have a feel around, the area went sensitive and I could feel it for hours, then the next day I ignored it.

If I ignore it, things go back to normal, but theres a dull ache constantly. I also feel the need to sit with my legs apart a lot, thinking if it gets all the air to hang, the pain will go away

The minute I have a good inspection, and handle the right testicle (it's only in my right testicle, the otherside is fine), they'll be a reaction and I'll end up spending the rest of the day thinking about it

There's nothing visible there of any concern. I'm going to the doctor on wednesday and that's probably my concern, like most visits to the doctor, is I'll get told there's nothing wrong

Anyone know if this an obvious or simple condition, have I aggrovated some nerves, or should I be more worried?

I could ignore it but as soon as you have a good wash or feel around, I can aggrovate it to some extent. Just a quick wash is fine but any kind of pressure and inspection and that's another day stressed out wondering what the hells going on as something down there reacts to contact

Doctor suspected this too, on anti biotics for ten days, ciprofloxacin

It's been 3 days, is it normal for it to hurt a bit more before it gets better

Dead frustrating this Sad

If it is epididymitis it will take a while for the antibiotics to work. Depending on the strength of the infection you might need a second round. Either way, after you're done with the antibiotics it's good to replenish the good bacteria in your body by taking Probiotic supplements. It will strengthen your immune system and lower the likelihood of bad bacteria returning by keeping them in check.

If the antibiotics don't work your doctor might order further tests such as an ultrasound. I had testicle pain and epididymitis was suspected and treated. However, it didn't work and an ultrasound showed it to be a varicocele, or varicose vein of the testicle. Check out some varicocele threads that I've written in if it comes to that.

Thanks for the reply

How do you suggest I play it. I'm 5 days in and the antibiotics appear to aggrovate the testicle. I did read somewhere that it could take a while for antibiotics to truely work, like a month or so, is that true?

When I finish this course in 5 days time, do I wait that month or go back to the doctor?

Confused

If at the end of the cycle you're still in pain go back to the doctor as soon as possible to start the next cycle right away without letting the infection take hold again. That is if he orders another dose. If you're okay, then no need to go back unless you feel pain again or if he asked you to return. He might order other tests as infection of the epididymis is not the only possibility, unless he specifically detected that.

After your antibiotics, take an enteric-coated probiotic supplement from a health store. It will replenish the good bacteria in your body and keep bad bacteria in check. Your antibiotics destroyed all of the bacteria, so it's beneficial to replenish the good bacteria. You can also pick something up to continue fighting any remaining infection, such as Garlic, Oregano Oil, Colloidal Silver, Vitamin C, Zinc, Astragalus, etc. Ask someone at the store to help pick one out.
