I'm a fifteen year old female who is yet to have sex. About a week and a half ago my seventeen year old boyfriend and i were fooling around humping. He wore a condom, however when I moved on top my sliding motion cause us to lose the condom. He didn't enter me, but he had precum on his penis. We humped for another good five minutes and although I had my underwear on, it was only a lacy black thong, not much in the protection department. Laying on our sides I finished him off with a hand job and he shot farther than we expected, coating my thigh and my underwear. So my question is, what're the chances? I was about midway between periods.

So It Is Too Early to Tell
Honey,I'm happy your boyfriend wore a condom, but in all likeyhood you shouldn't be pregnant, but going on birth control ''just in case is a good idea, there are shots in the hip, once every 3 months, they are cheaper than the pill usually, and are almost immediately effective where the pill needs AT LEAST 30 days minimum to be effective, ask your doctor,or call planned parenthood, you are only 15 & 17,as cute as babies are, they change your life forever,in the chance you and your boyfriend don't last forever,it is never a good idea to take the risk, though I am thrilled to hear your boyfriend already showed responsibility by getting condoms! BUT,have an additional birth control method,I am a mom of 4,but have a ''condom baby'' of my own,and let's face it,you won't be a virgin forever,so get another method so you and your B/F don't have to worry, you will resent and blame each other possibly in future if you get pregnant at a young age,I speak from experience,my oldest was born when I was 20,and I was on my own at before I was 22,she(my daughter) has never received 1 penny child support,I have never regretted having her and was blessed to get him out of my life, but she was a ''pill'' baby, and that's why I say to always use 2 forms of birth control, you're young, experience life 1st,then have babies, you need to go for a pap test to rule out many things(virgin or not) and so they can figure out what birth control is best for you. feel free to send a private message to me,I will give any information you may be too scared to ask your doctor or parent,My girl is almost 18 and is a virgin as well, she has been dating her boyfriend a LONG time. As for being pregnant, you should be fine, but remember there are 50-80 MILLION sperm in ejaculate,it only takes one,I regularily talk to community teenagers OPENLY and honestly, there is no shame involved,it is part of life,so send me a message and ask all the questions you are seeking ,though not a M.D., have medical knowledge and will point you towards a M.D if I can not answer appropriately,in the mean time, ''play safe'' with this issue, thanks for being responsible enough to ask a question and seek help,I am very proud of you and the step you have taken, all my best!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. The chances of getting pregnant that way are pretty slim.

In the meantime, you should consider getting on birth control. If you do choose birth control, steer clear of the shot because it has been linked to bone density loss in almost all who take it and weight gain and many women have difficulty regaining their fertility to have a baby afterwards.

If you are consistent and can take the pill daily, that is probably the way to go. Actually, the pill is effective immediately assuming it is begun on the first day of your period. If you start it the Sunday after your period starts, it takes a week to be effective.

You should look into going to Planned Parenthood if you don't want to talk to your mom about seeing a gynecologist and getting on the pill. They use a sliding scale and you can get pills for very cheap or even free and they don't need parental consent.

Too Early to Tell
I had know problem with fertility after the ''shot'', had 2 pregnancies after, one being a blighted ovum, and my 3 year old condom baby! The pill needs more than a week as well,my 17 yr old is a confirmation of that! All information is in the ''pill'' pamphlet ,it does state a recommended amount of time to be effective. It is now advised that the pill is to be taken within the same hour each day for the most effect, and some prescriptions will come with a sticker ''did you forget something?'' to put on a mirror for an easy reminder. As for weight gain, not in all cases, myself and 2 family members all lost weight-me-152 down to 109 while on the shot, though wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss/gain option. You will need to see a gynecologist for the best options, some woman can not use the shot or the pill, the pill carries health risks as well, also have some family history as well. And with the shot, you will not have regular periods, but may have prolonged periods(mine wouldn't stop) so it is a tough call, best left to the gyno. Good luck, and hope everything works out,see if your boyfriend is willing to go to the dr with you,it is to protect you both, and DON'T FORGET THE CONDOMS!
