Q: Laminectomy Post Op

I will be having a laminectomy at l4-l5 and a possible fusion. This is being done because all non invasive has not worked to stop the acute pain in my left leg. Is anyone out there who has had this able to answer a few questions.
How bad is the pain in the leg post operative and for how long?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Laminectomy Post Op
I am 2 weeks post -op and I still have some pain in my left leg, which is why I looked into this in the first place. I was told that it will take some time, all things considered. I had the fusion from the L2-S1 and a rod. If there is a nerve/nerves in there that are effected, it will probably help to be patient.

Good luck and I hope that it goes away quickly. It certainly is not a fun thing to have to deal with. How long have you had this problem?
