Q: Growth On Scalp

My husband felt that he had something on his scalp and I looked at it, and there was a growth on his scalp. It's hard to explain how it looks but here it goes....It's growing out of his scalp and it kind of looks like a coral or something. It has like little hair like things. Something like the little things you have on your tongue. I touched it to see what it was and it turned pink like if it was going to bleed. The little hair like things also had blood in them cause you can see that it got irritated after I messed with it. He said he noticed it not too long ago, but never thought anything of it cause he just felt it. It's on the back of his head so he couldn't see it. I barely saw it last night. What could it be? Is it cancer? Help please!!!! Or if anyone knows of a site that I can look at pictures or something so I can find out what it is..... Thanks....

Especially eHealthy
it sounds like melanoma.

could just be a skin tag.

Best thing he can do is see a dermatologist.

did you find out?
Hi there.Did you find out what it was? My husband has one too. I finally got him to go to a doctor but now we have to go to a specialist so we still don't know. It causes him pain and is very tender....
I hope it is nothing serious.

This may help
Hi, my brother has a neurofibroma on his scalp....this is very rare and tests show that it is entering into the cancerous stage as it has grown and is changing. Dr's are trying to get him in to surgically remove it ("it's about the size of a hard boiled egg cut in half").He was born with these little bumps on his head but he is now in his 40's. Insist that your husband see a dermatologist. Best wishes.
